Transportation assistance
At Light of Guidance Foundation, we recognize that reliable transportation is more than a convenience — it’s a lifeline. For many newcomers, refugees, and low-income individuals, limited access to affordable transportation can be a major barrier to employment, education, medical care, and essential community services. The challenge is often compounded by financial hardship, unfamiliar transit systems, and the geographic spread of key resources across the city.
Through our Transportation Assistance Program, we help individuals and families overcome these obstacles by providing transit passes, bus tickets, and information on navigating local transportation options. For those in areas with limited transit access, we coordinate community carpool initiatives and partner with volunteers who offer rides to appointments, job interviews, and community programs. These efforts ensure that lack of transportation never stands in the way of someone’s opportunity to work, learn, or receive critical support.
Our approach goes beyond providing physical mobility — it’s about empowering independence and inclusion. By helping community members move freely and confidently through their new surroundings, we strengthen their ability to build stability, connect with others, and fully participate in the life of their community.
